Thailand's Constitutional Court has ruled the 2 February general election invalid.
Today, there is a general election in Thailand. I'm one of the people to vote the first time.
I've voted in the morning at Chatuchak (electoral district no.9)—polling station no.13. Many locals are going to vote. I think that the protesters, blocking other polling stations in the capital, are not locals. They may be from other parts of Thailand.
As I've voted, I feel good and I am proud of myself because I've done Thai's duty.
According to the current Thai constitution, section 41 shows that people who have right to vote must go to vote. In addition, the act of election states that to obstruct the vote is illegal and delaying the poll is Election Commission's authority. The government can only support the election as EC requests.
In conclusion, Election Commission has an authority to delay the poll but they didn't do it. Although it is the authority of EC, the government have been accused of making situation worse because of not delaying the poll.
UPDATE!!: Members of Bangkok's council by-election will be held on 23rd February in some districts e.g. Chatuchak because the members have resigned to apply for members of house of representatives-candidate. Furthermore, Democrat party has sent a candidate in Chatuchak district while they didn't send any candidates in the general election.
