Tap Water Get Salty

According to Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, tap water in the capital has become salty since last week because of high-tide sea level and earlier drought. This was one of major topics in TV news 3-4 days ago.

Salty Tap Water

Many Bangkokians can taste different flavour of tap water. It got salty. In 2014, the drought have come early and also sea water has entered Chao Phraya River where water is used for water supply.

Safe?

Sa-Nga Damapong of the Nutrition Association of Thailand said the capital's water purification system is safe for drinking. However, it is not recommended for people who have nephropathy to drink.

Reliability of the Country

Tap water is an important factor for life and also is an important infrastructure which the country rely on. Because of wide uses of tap water, it is very important to make sure that tap water always has good quality especially in the capital. For example, if some factories use tap water as an ingredient, this would be worse for them.
